Meet The Pastor
Queens Federation of Churches 2013 Recipient of the Grant F Anderson Citation for Meritorious Ministry The Reverend Owen E Williams

Pastor Owen E. Williams is the Pastor of the St. Mark missionary Baptist church In 2003 He was licensed by Bishop Betts, Sr. as a minister of the Gospel and the two men founded New Birth Christian Fellowship Ministry. The following year (2004) he was ordained by Bishop Betts, Sr. and continued to serve at New Birth until the Lord led him one day in 2005 to preach at Friendship Baptist Church where his friend Rev. Crawford Hinson is the Pastor. Pastor Williams joined Friendship on that same day. Under the watchful eye of Pastor Hinson, Pastor Williams was taught pulpit and pastoral protocol. In May of 2006 the Lord came calling again, this time he called him to St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.

Pastor Williams completed his junior and high school years in Miami Florida where he graduated from Miami Killian Senior High School in 1981. After high school he played junior college basketball at Miami Dade Community College where he was offered a two year basketball scholarship. Pastor Williams’ mother sent him to New York after the McDuffie riots devastated the city of Miami where he was able to find consistent employment while simultaneously earning both his Associate, Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees.

In New York Pastor Williams has been able to have a successful career in the healthcare industry, working in several world famous healthcare institutions at the department head and administrator levels, he’s also had a successful decade long period as an entrepreneur as the founder and president of G.W janitorial Cleaning Systems Inc.

Pastor Williams accepted his call to ministry in 1998 while he was a member of the Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church and under the leadership and mentorship of Bishop Charles E Betts. He joined Bishop Betts on the widely popular radio broadcast (Morning Meditation) on W.T.H.E 1520 AM where the Lord blessed this union making the show one of the most popular shows on the station from 1998 to 2005.

Pastor Williams is an excellent expository preacher and teacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, his uncanny ability to bridge the Bible as the only book that can help, deliver and save mankind in his physical, physiological, psychological, emotional and sociological states, is unique in its style while vast in its scope. Pastor Williams believes that the bible is a book about decisions which forces us to hold our selves accountable for the ones we make. I set before you today life and good, death and evil. (Deut 30:15) Through Pastor Williams preaching and teaching many souls have come to Christ, with minds opened to a deeper richer understanding of God’s word for our lives.

Pastor Williams is a member of the Board of Directors of the Queens Federation of Churches, The New York City Police Department 103rd Precinct Community Council and Live on NY, he is also a member of the NYPD Clergy Liaison Staff  and the author of the books: The Corporate Christian: Christian beliefs vs. Corporate behaviors and The Corporate Christian 2: The Battle for your Beliefs. These books deals with the daily intense battle every christian must fight while in the corporate environment. At St. Mark he has established many ministries and conducted numerous workshops on deacon-ship, mission work and ushering inside and outside of the church, he has also had by the grace of God the wonderful opportunity travel to South Africa and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Pastor Williams is married to Elder Debora Williams for over 25 years, and they have one daughter Desiree Rose Williams who attends college in upstate New York.

Throughout Pastor Williams’ Christian journey, the Lord has taught him many things but two things have always stayed with him; maximize your moments, we have so few and an ounce of practice is worth a ton of preaching. Let us all be practitioners rather than preachers of the gospel, doers rather than hears of the word.
